'GayStation' Sells for More Than 10 Times PS4 Price
It was reported last week that a custom rainbow PlayStation 4 was being auctioned off during Sweden's pride week to benefit the Swedish LGBT Rights group RSFL (The Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights). As Gay Star News reports the so-called "GayStation" has been bought and sold for $4,100 - more than 10-times the cost of a normal PlayStation 4.
Swedish retailer WebHallen teamed up with RFSL to sponsor the "GayStation," which is "adorned wit ha pixel-alloy heart."
The proceeds will go to help LGBT refugees, according to the auction page for the rainbow-colored video game system.
The package also includes four pieces. optional PlayStation 4 games. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to RFSL Newcomers, RFSL's work with asylum seekers, undocumented migrants and new arrivals LGBTQ people under RFSL Newcomers. The aid is administered by raising foundation RFSL. For many young people that play, the world becomes a refuge to escape the taunts, or worse, real life.

As Gay Star News notes, there were more than 180 bids for the system - the highest was $4,100. A standard PS4 sells for $300. The "GayStation" includes one 500GB PS4, four wireless controllers and four games and cables.
