What’s HOT (6/20-6/26)
Last Monday there were 2 events (yes, on a Monday) in Fort Lauderdale. The first was the celebration of Life for Wanda at the Boardwalk that featured performances by Erika Norell, Alyson Thomas and many more female impersonators.
Speaking of Female impersonators, the second event was the annual Miss & Mr. South Florida Illusions pageant held at Monkey Business Bar. In the end, congrats goes to Tayanna Love and Tariq Love Dupree the new court.
Saturday started with the Pride Wind Ensemble who presented "From Sea to Shining Sea, the Music of American Composers" at the Broward Center. The theater was packed to capacity and the performance included acrobats and was filled with lots of energy.
Later on that night there were 3 big parties the first 2 were in Miami where Score featured Hilton Wolman’s Salvation party which was also a 30 birthday party for Myron Wolman and featured the music of Eddie Elias with a warm up set by Miami’s own Alex Infiniti, and Discotekka featured one of their infamous Foam parties.
In Fort Lauderdale, the Manor was packed with fans of the one and only Phi Phi O’Hara of RuPaul’s drag race, who turned it out in the Epic room and in the Latin Room. She is not Latin, but knew every word of her Spanish song... true diva! Sunday, there were 2 grand openings: Score featured their new Deep Sundays starring DJ Tpromix with no cover, and Mova featured the grand opening of their second location in Brickell starring DJ/Producer Theresa.
Sunday night featured the annual Miss & Mr. Stonewall pageant at Bills. Congrats to Mia Patricyk (fantastic quick change for presentation) Richard Cortez, your new Stonewall court!
